Cynthia Chadwick – Bridging Languages, Education, and Compassion
My journey as a translator, teacher, and businesswoman began not out of convenience, but out of resilience. Years ago, I was diagnosed with scoliosis — a challenge that changed my career path dramatically. What seemed like a limitation became a turning point: I discovered translation. From academic journals to novels and legal documents, I soon realized that language is not just words — it is connection, opportunity, and empowerment.
But in truth, my entrepreneurial journey started long before that. At just six years old, I helped my mother sell vegetables — my first experience in learning the value of hard work, trust, and community. By the age of eight, I was selling cocoons from my garden and trading fancy papers with classmates. In high school, I sold cosmetics and tutoring students as well. During college, I worked in sales. Looking back, I see that entrepreneurship has always been part of me — not just about earning, but about creating opportunities, building connections, and offering value to others.
That spirit became the foundation of my businesses today. I founded Tia Translator, a global agency working with over 2,600 native speakers across 100+ languages, because I believe every document, contract, or story deserves to be heard in its most authentic voice. I built LinguaKita, a BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia for Foreigners) school, to share the beauty of Indonesian language and culture with the world. And through Chadwick Academy, I continue to teach English, mentor students, and create pathways for communication and growth.
Beyond titles and companies, I see myself as more than a businesswoman. I am an educator who believes in lifelong learning. I am a rescuer who opens my home to animals in need — cats, dogs, turtles, and even ducks — because compassion should never stop at humans. I am also a believer that business must serve both people and the planet. At home, I strive to live sustainably: keeping my space green, composting, recycling, reusing, and subscribing to responsible waste services that share the same vision of a better world.
Every translation, every lesson, every rescued life, and every small act of sustainability are threads of the same story: helping people and living beings connect, survive, and thrive. I combine my skills and my heart to build businesses that do more than succeed — they serve.
Looking ahead, my vision is clear: to continue leading in global communication and education, while proving that businesses can be built with empathy and responsibility. I want my story to inspire others — to show that even challenges can become opportunities, and that when rooted in compassion, every profession can help shape a better future.
“Language has the power to change lives. It helped me rebuild mine, and now it’s my mission to help others connect, grow, and succeed across cultures. Whether you’re a business expanding globally or someone learning a new language, we’re here to make communication seamless with a human touch and cultural sensitivity. For me, business is not only about profit, but about purpose — creating opportunities, uplifting communities, protecting our planet, and showing compassion for every living being. With resilience, empathy, and integrity, I believe we can build bridges that last, not just for today, but for the future we share.” — Cynthia Chadwick
